The Bank of Finland Payment and Settlement Simulator BoF-PSS

The Bank of Finland has developed a versatile Payment and Settlement System Simulator (BoF-PSS2) for making payments and settlement system simulations. The simulator can be used for analyzing liquidity needs, risk issues, settlement algorithms and changes in behavioral patterns, authority policies/regulations, settlement conventions and pricing/costs issues. The simulator is freely available for research purposes.

Help desk and Advisory service is now launched

The Bank of Finland wishes to respond to vivid demand for supporting services for the BoF-PSS2 Simulator. The user feedback collected in the annual Payment and Settlement System Seminars indicates that the BoF-PSS2 license holders wish more detailed support in the use of the BoF-PSS2 Simulator. The user feedback points out that the modeling of the payment and settlement system, building stress test scenarios or modifying standard algorithms in Your own project can be sometimes challenging.

A new version 2.4.0 released

A version 2.4.0. of the BoF PSS2 Simulator is now released. The version 2.4.0 is more stable and reliable, and contains new network analysis features. MySQL is included in delivery package with a commercial lisence. For that reason, also the current BoF PSS2 users who want to downlaod the version 2.4.0 must fill again the ordering form and send it to the Bank of Finland. See detail ordering instructions.

Target 2 Simulator

TARGET2 Simulator Service - A Common Project of the Bank of Finland (BoF) and the 3CB (Banca d'Italia, Deutsche Bundesbank, Banque de France) is just now the key development project of the BoF Simulator. The next release (version 3.0) is scheduled on the H1/2010.

Data security check

Data security check is performed on the Bank of Finland extranet service between the dates 15th of March and 29th of March. The check may cause unexpected content to be shown in the pages or even unavailability of the pages. Purpose of the tests is to improve the data security of the extranet in order to allow more versatile use of the extranet in future. Data security checks do not compromise the security of user data or tickets in the extranet. During the data security checks, please use email bof-pss(at)bof.fi to contact BoF simulator development team with if needed.

New training course for beginners

Bank of Finland organises a new training course for starter-level users of BoF-PSS2 on 18 and 19 March 2010. Course aims at facilitating entrance to simulation world and making basic and some more advanced simulations of BoF-PSS2. This is the second event for this programme which received plenty of good evaluations in June 2009. Course programme is available in attachment. Minimum attendance to the session is four participants.
